22. Smetanova Litomyšl 1980

V roce 1980 začala Smetanova Litomyšl neobvykle brzy. 14. června se hrála Hubička, kterou režíroval Karel Jernek a dirigoval Bohumír Liška a o den později Prodaná nevěsta s Josefem Kuchinkou za dirigentským pultem s tradičním režijním pojetím a vcelku i standardním obsazením. Pouze v roli Krušiny vystoupil jako host sólista ostravské opery Pavel Červinka , který brzy poté přecházel do angažmá v Národním divadle.

Program byl zahájen v pátek večer v zámeckém amfiteátru, kde se na hudbu starých mistrů představil balet Národního divadla Praha. Pořad nesl název Návraty ke krásám.
